Philosophical Leadership
Leaders in contemporary organizations face a dizzying array of challenges. They’re expected to lead large, global teams, foster an ethical and “One Company” corporate culture, model and instill the organization’s values, and find unique ways to ensure the long-term success of the organization while navigating a multitude of short-term demands.
I have worked on corporate culture, values, and communications issues at the world’s largest technology-driven investment manager, and also served as the Chief of Staff to the founder and CEO of a technology-driven Ethics, Culture, and Compliance company. As a result, I have an insider’s understanding of these issues. I also believe that philosophy—both its tools and theories—can help the leaders of organizations improve their confidence, their approach to managing corporate culture, and their overall leadership capabilities.
These one-on-one sessions are designed to give leaders a chance to both discuss issues or problems they are facing in their capacity as leaders, while also utilizing philosophical tools and the specific insights of philosophers (such as the Stoics, Aristotle, and others) to help those leaders develop unique, differentiating, and successful approaches to leadership (and life).
